Plympton Select Board Approves Code of Conduct, Two Townhouse Design Contracts

PLYMPTON — October 7, 2024 — Plympton Select Board approved a new code of conduct and $18,450 in townhouse design contracts at its October 7 meeting. Fire Chief Glenn Duddy reported the department has applied for a $181,000 national SINSA grant to replace portable radios that lack digital capability and cannot communicate on the police department's frequency, warning that many units "are not intrinsically safe" for use in explosive environments. The board unanimously approved two contracts with Habib and Associates — $8,950 for attic insulation tied to the ongoing townhouse roof project and $9,500 for restoration of the historic front entrance using already-allocated Community Preservation Committee funds. Town Administrator Liz Dennehy noted the town campus well project may require roughly $100,000 in additional funding beyond remaining county ARPA money, a figure that will factor into budget discussions beginning within two weeks.
