Plympton Planning Board Orders Full New Application for 387 Main Street Solar Relocation

PLYMPTON — May 5, 2026 — Plympton Planning Board tells Main Street property owner to start solar permitting from scratch. Jeff Perrette, who owns both 387 and 399 Main Street, appeared before the board Tuesday seeking guidance on relocating an approved solar installation from 399 Main Street — spread across roughly seven acres at what he called "the gateway to Plympton" — to the more isolated, wooded 387 Main Street parcel. Board members ruled the move requires a brand-new site plan application for 387 Main Street, complete with stormwater management analysis, sight-line documentation, screening plans, a consulting engineer review, and filing fees including an approximately $3,000 engineering deposit. New Leaf Energy holds the solar lease and would be assigned any resulting permit. If Perrette files a complete package at the May 19 meeting, the earliest public hearing date is June 16, with a realistic approval timeline of late September.
