Plympton Planning Board clears Rewild solar project's local poles and road

PLYMPTON — June 2, 2026 — Plympton Planning Board votes unanimously that a solar project's local infrastructure does not require site plan review. The board determined Tuesday that overhead utility poles and a 16-foot gravel access road associated with Rewild's solar energy facility — which lies in Kingston — fall outside the scope of Section 300-6.10 of Plympton's zoning bylaw, because the solar facility itself is not located in Plympton. Attorney Sullivan Wester appeared for the applicant and described the local work as minor: most of the access road is already constructed and the closest work sits 350 feet from a wetland, which the local Conservation Commission has already approved. The presiding member said he would notify the building inspector in writing of the board's determination. The board also accepted an as-built plan for the Osville landscaping contractor site, noting the property's site plan approval is use-specific and any change of use requires a return to the board for modification.
