Plympton Select Board Approves Two Recreation Commission Appointments, Declares Snow Emergency

PLYMPTON — February 13, 2025 — Plympton Select Board approves two Recreation Commission appointments and declares a snow and ice budget emergency at its February 13 meeting. The board unanimously appointed Becky Archambault and Neepo Wadsworth to the Recreation Commission for terms through June 30, 2027, and voted to allow the highway department to continue deficit spending after exhausting its snow and ice appropriation. Town Administrator Liz Dennehy reported the Brockton Enterprise has been identified as the likely replacement for legal advertising once the Plympton-Halifax Express closes, with all boards expected to use a single outlet. A resident who identified herself only as Megan told the board that exterior lights at the Old Townhouse have forced her to install blackout window coverings and that photographs sent to the board last August went unanswered; the board pledged to include her in future discussions. The Treasurer-Collector previewed an Annual Town Meeting warrant article to allow the cemetery perpetual care fund to be invested under the state's prudent investor standard, with current returns averaging under $1,000 per year.
