Plympton Select Board Approves Three-Town Mental Health Clinician Pact

PLYMPTON — December 22, 2025 — Plympton Select Board votes to join a three-town regional mental health clinician program. The board unanimously approved entering an inter-municipal agreement with Kingston and Halifax at its December 22 meeting, authorizing $4,521 in opioid settlement funds as Plympton's startup share, subject to final review by Town Counsel. Town Administrator Bridgette Sheridan described the clinician — who would be a Kingston employee — as an adjunct to existing first responders, providing mental health response and follow-up services, and noted a prior Carver collaboration as a model. The board also approved roughly $230 in opioid funds for LEED educational materials at Dennett Elementary School, leaving the town's accumulated opioid settlement balance, which stood at just over $13,000, substantially committed. Seven businesses received 2026 license renewals, and Emma Wick and Deborah Batson were appointed to the Agricultural Commission and Community Preservation Committee, respectively, with the Batson seat filling a vacancy left by the resignation of Nancy Butler.
