Plympton Select Board Approves Five Appointments, Eyes State IT Grant

PLYMPTON — December 16, 2024 — Plympton's Select Board unanimously approved five municipal appointments and heard that a 40B affordable-housing filing for Ricketts Pond Estates is imminent at its December 16 meeting. Town Administrator Liz Dennehy reported that MassHousing has issued a project eligibility letter to the Ricketts Pond Estates developer, meaning a comprehensive-permit application to the Zoning Board of Appeals is expected soon; the letter has been posted to the town website and shared on the town's Facebook page. The board confirmed William Kelly as Building Inspector, Christina Stewart as Assistant Treasurer Collector, and Michael Slauson, Richard Stover, and Mary Lou Sales to the Plympton Historic District Commission. Dennehy also briefed the board on a Community Compact IT grant opening in February, saying a department-head survey pointed "overwhelmingly" toward permitting software over a website overhaul, though board members flagged concerns about long-term maintenance costs and the town's lack of a dedicated IT manager. Warrants of $17,159.55 were approved.
