At its June 17 meeting, the board calendared a July 1 public hearing for the Groundwater Protection Overlay District special permit required for a self-storage project at 77 Spring Street — a permit triggered because the site's impervious surface coverage exceeds 15 percent of the property. A second hearing, set for July 15 at 6:30 p.m., will open site plan review for an approximately 18-acre solar expansion at a former Christmas tree farm on Brook Street, though the chair noted the date depends on confirming a quorum, with two members on vacation and a third recusing himself from the solar matter. The board flagged gaps in the solar application — missing waiver requests under sections 4.15, 4.21, and 4.22 of the site plan review regulations and an incomplete signage plan — and instructed the applicant to supplement the filing before the hearing. The board unanimously approved a $930 warrant to consulting engineer John Chassia for review of final plan sets for 77 Spring Street and 106 County Road, and deferred approval of three sets of meeting minutes to July 1.
