Plympton Planning Board Continues Brook Street Solar Hearing Amid Drainage Dispute

PLYMPTON — September 16, 2025 — Plympton Planning Board continues Brook Street solar hearing over unresolved drainage design concerns. The board voted unanimously at its September 16 meeting to continue the public hearing on the Zero Brook Street Phase III large-scale solar array application to October 7, 2025, after the project's review engineer delivered comments to the applicant just one day before the session. A staff member told the board the engineer "doesn't necessarily agree with the approach" the applicant is using for drainage design and that "it doesn't meet our design requirements, our regulatory requirements." Staff proposed a three-party Zoom meeting with both engineers to work through the dispute before the October 7 hearing. The board also signed Mylar plans for the previously approved 77 Spring Street project — incorporating two minor post-approval revisions related to a stream reclassification — and authorized payment of two engineering invoices from the project's escrow account.
