PLYMPTON -- November 5, 2025, Plympton's Town Properties Committee convened for the first time as a newly seated body, electing Pierre Boyer as chair and voting unanimously to narrow the committee's official purpose to town-owned buildings and land. The three-member panel, Boyer, Keelan Smith, and Kate Johnson, a former School Committee member, received an extensive briefing on the town's years-long effort to establish a DEP-certified public water supply for the municipal campus, which encompasses town hall, the library, the fire station, old fire station, and police station. A consultant managing the project described three drilled test wells, one producing approximately 100 gallons per minute, and said remaining ARPA funds of roughly $107,000 must be spent by end of 2026 but will not cover a required filtration system, raising the prospect of a special town meeting. The committee voted unanimously to continue a prior policy authorizing change orders under $10,000 administratively, clearing a $2,000 DEP-required dry well design to proceed. The panel also agreed to contact the fire chief to schedule a walkthrough of outstanding code citation items before a November 17 extension deadline, and flagged a $60,000 CPA-funded town hall front door replacement as a near-term priority.
