Plympton Select Board Approves Dennett Fundraiser Liquor License, Makes Two Appointments

PLYMPTON — November 5, 2025 — Plympton Select Board approves a fundraiser liquor license, makes two civic appointments, and hears food pantry expansion update. The board unanimously approved a one-day liquor license for a Dennett Elementary School sixth-grade fundraiser at Colchester Farm on December 3, with South Shore Cocktails LLC and Flora Ketchum as the licensed server. In the same session, the board appointed Susan Vetterlein to the Local Cultural Council through November 2028 and Ross McPherson to the Plympton School Committee through May 16, 2026. A warrant of $46,976.11 — the majority of it a legal invoice — was acknowledged. The town administrator reported the Council on Aging has expanded the Town House food pantry to Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with library director Mike Slauson creating a pantry annex at the library. The board also heard that a potential switch from a $60,000 permitting software package to Microsoft Office 365 at $300 per user annually is under active research, with the town of Carver having declined the platform as too costly and Rehoboth paying $25 per user per month.
